14 Stony Street

Sitting on the chaise longue taking a mid morning break, I feel incredibly lucky to be here, in the town I love, selling the clothes I adore to design and make, and feeling well and truly settled in to 14 Stony Street. My days seem to be working like clockwork; opening up, speaking to customers, sewing and selling. It’s a complete dream. I’ve spent almost a whole season here and now have the next season pretty much ready to go.

This SS/17 i’ve gone back to my roots with a colourful range of tailored coats and jackets- a passion of mine for a long time now and what I first became interested in back in my London College of Fashion days. This season for me, is all about pastels and muted brights in bold flowery prints and checks.
Spring can be notoriously changeable, that’s why along with my lightweight cotton jackets, I’m introducing a fun-fur range of coats in Springtime pastels. Perfect for festivals, and those still chilly evenings, these fresh and fluffy coats are an absolute staple for the cold blooded being, much like myself.

Those muted brights feature in my floral coats which have a four button front with patch pockets, a delicate collar and cropped sleeves and of course are fully lined. Lightweight and elegant, they are versatile and perfect for any occasion; whether you’re nipping out to the shops and throw on over jeans and a tee, or stepping out to your best friend’s wedding, you will well and truly make an entrance. With a timeless effort these coats drip memories of the 1930’s and 1960’s- classy with simple lines and ready to wear, they are an investment well made.

I adore making pants- men’s boxer shorts and ladies knickers! The designs are traditional, comfortable, and made out of high quality cotton – no nasty polyesters on your bum! The best part is being able to work with a wide range of cotton prints and having fun mixing and matching them to create a unique bedtime look. Again sticking with those yummy pastels and muted brights, the whole collection is so easy to mix up. Coats and knickers, what more does a girl need!

At the rear of the shop is where you will find my undie-world. Peppered with camis, shorts and sumptuous robes from my Truly Knickers label, you will find yourself in a dreamy wonderland. Again, I look back to the 1960’s and 70’s for this season’s bed wear inspiration and comfort is also always key. I thrive on the idea of getting home, putting on my fluffy slippers, silky pjs and robe, feeling cute, cosy and comfortable.

So, what is it that I want you to get from the newly reformed Truly Sopel? Simply, that I wish you to share in my fashion world; find it inspiring and engaging with clothes you can enjoy wearing season after season, dressing up and down as you reinvent and restyle your look. Most importantly, I want you, just as I have done, to have everyday fun with fashion.
